The OpenKontrol Gateway is the product everyone (including us) has been eagerly waiting for. It supports WiFi, low power RF (many types), Ethernet and Bluetooth. It's designed to be used 24 hours a day so is incredibly low power at just half a watt (based on XRF radio, XV wifi module, SD, RTC and SRAM), this means it costs less than a Euro per year to run. This single low cost device has the potential to revolutionise low cost development of IOT devices. Being an Open Hardware project, example source code and schematics will be available. The OKG is unleashing creative coding and brings together the opertunity to integrate many platforms to a single device.

This is for the bare PCB only, see option prices top right of this advert.

  1. Good design around Arduino standards

Posted by Gilles de Pelichy Pascal on 22nd Jan 2013

I consider brillant the idea of having multiple sockets/locations to integrate various RF modules.
Maintaining compatibility with Arduino libraries makes things pretty easy.
On top of this, the choice between the 2 Ethernet Arduino standards allows using both OpenEnergyMonitor/JeeLabs sketches and Arduino Ethernet Shield ones (like MudBus TCP).
    Good work !
