Product description
Our extremely popular easy to use RF serial data module with great range and XBee series 1 shaped pin layout.
Provides an out-of-the-box wireless RF serial connection without any need for programming or end-user configuration.
Operates in the ISM bands (868, 915 MHz) and that means it has a greater range than WiFi (2.4 GHz) units that sport the same footprint. That means it goes through more walls and reaches further. We have had reports of customers sending data over more than 3 KM using the standard supplied whip antennas.
Comes pre-loaded with Ciseco firmware which enables the XRF to interwork with all other Ciseco RF modules, without any programming or configuration. You provide data one end and it appears on the other. All data packetisation, data checking, etc. is all done for you.
Makes use of Texas Instruments’ CC1110, a low-power System-on-Chip, which sports a micro-controller unit (MCU), memory, a sub-1GHz transceiver, and an encryption engine.
Ciseco provide a series personalities that can be used to specialise an XRF so it can become a dedicated sensor or actuator that communicates using Ciseco’s LLAP, a protocol that is as easy to understand as a text message.
We have a range of sensors, actuators, support boards, Arduino shields, and Raspberry Pi add-on boards that when fitted with an XRF become wireless nodes in a Ciseco powered internet of things.
Features:
Limitations to use:
The XRF is not recommended or authorised for use in life support, surgical implantation, nuclear or aircraft applications or for any use or application in which the failure of a single component could cause substantial harm to persons or property.

It works perfect for my FPV telemetry setup, no packages lost. No interference between XRF 868,3 MHz and my TX 900MHz/500mW video. I was able to make it running on HK GCS. I am impressed. Shipping was really short. Thanks CISECO

Hi, I have the telemetry port from a Ardupilot Mega UAV connected to 2 x XRF modules incl XBBO and runs on 868,3 MHz, baudrate at 57600th . Works great. Dear greetings from Germany :-)

It's very well thought out, the support is excellent, the design of the firmware is brilliant (you buy it for the serial-passthru, and you will love the llap feature)
documetation has to be sorted however, but that will happen for sure.

This is the very first time I've dealt with Ciseco adn I am more than enthusiastic with the quality and performance of the XRF modules. Unbelievably easy to use and they work flawlessly straight out of the box as promised. They have an incredible line of sight range with the standard board mounted wire whip antenna and the quality of manufacture is top notch. These are definately the easiest radio tranceiver modules to use and they make Xbee redundant, what a winner.
